When Jim Kalnas founded the Partners Alliance in 1998, his mission was twofold: find the perfect candidates for his client’s unique staffing needs, and provide his candidates with the opportunity to build profitable careers. And throughout his 20 years in business, the Partners Alliance has done just that, placed hundreds of people in positions across multiple technical and manufacturing environments.
As President and CEO of the Partners Alliance, Jim is responsible for all business initiatives, including new business and strategy development, employee relations, customer service, and client success planning. His outside-of-the-box approach to building a business, addressing client needs and problem solving has served him well as he’s led the company through turbulent economic conditions and an ever-changing job market.
Jim describes his business as “a schooner, not at battleship.” Meaning, as a small company, the Partners Alliance is agile and able to change and adapt to not only the unique needs of each client, but also the highs and lows of the US economy. Without the bureaucracy and overhead of larger firms, he is able to make quick decisions, adapt to any situation and continuously push the envelope to drive growth and exceed client expectations.
Prior to starting the Partners Alliance, Jim co-founded an engineering consulting organization in 1989, which specialized in finding talent in the process control and embedded control systems industries.
Jim received his bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from the University of Pittsburgh in 1983.
A lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, Jim and his wife, Kim, have three children and reside in Cranberry Township, PA. He is an avid boater and jogger and also enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.
